Copyright
I am an advocate of legal copyright law and I know directors have questions about this process from time to time, so let me help you out in this area.

Arrangements of works that are not in the public domain are only able to be sold and performed if permission is granted each time they are sold. Most publishing companies require that my arrangements be revised in a manner to make them unique to each band. You should also be informed that in most cases, the composer is not necessarily the copyright holder. Each publishing company operates differently so please contact me and I will get you pointed in the right direction.

CopyCat Music Licensing can also be of help to your school in obtaining copyright permission.

Here are some other websites that may be valuable in trying to secure copyright permission.

Click here for a permission form to send into the music publishing companies, although most companies will have their own form for you to fill out.
